Our stunning Clan crest Iona bar brooch is a combination of old and new. The Iona bar design was first made on the small Holy Isle of Iona off the west coast of Scotland and the Clan crest is designed and made in our small Studio on the west coast of Canada. The Iona bar is decorated with Celtic "bosses" on each end and is connected  by a Celtic interlace design, the symbol of everlasting life. The Clan crest is suspended from the centre of this antique design. The bar brooch has a three part high quality  rolling catch. The bar measures  1-3/4" wide by 9/16" high and has a solid back stamped "Iona" and sterling.

The Clan crest is surrounded by a detailed belt and buckle design upon which is inscribed your Clan motto in raised relief lettering. In ancient times, the chief of the Clan presented to his Clansmen his crest for them to wear as a symbol of their loyalty and Clan affiliation. Each Clan crest is exquisitely handcrafted in high detail in sterling silver or karat gold. 

We make our fine pewter, sterling silver & karat gold Clan master designs by the "lost wax casting" process which allows us to carve our master designs deeper in wax than would be possible with simple metal engraving. Each piece is painstakingly made by hand and the difference in the quality of design is significant. These Clan items are NOT made by die stamping or machine. Again, the difference in the end product is significant. In our estimation, these are the finest detailed Clan crests available in the world!
